Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This privacy policy explains how the Traces Urbaines application uses, stores, and protects user data on Android, iOS, and iPadOS.
Traces Urbaines is a cultural, educational, and immersive application dedicated to discovering the history, urban heritage, and iconic places of Lubumbashi through digital content, augmented reality, and interactive experiences.
1. Application owner
The Traces Urbaines application is developed and managed by:
Kishanga Network / Traces Urbaines
Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Email: youness.dominique@gmail.com
2. Data used by the application
Traces Urbaines limits data use and collection to what is strictly necessary to provide its features.
The application may use technical information, server connection data, content stored locally in the cache, and the camera for sticker and target image recognition.
The application does not require users to create an account and does not intentionally collect names, postal addresses, contacts, personal photos, banking information, passwords, medical data, or user opinions.
3. Camera and augmented reality
The camera is used only to recognize stickers, target images, and visual materials related to the Traces Urbaines project.
Images captured by the camera are analyzed as part of the augmented reality feature. Traces Urbaines does not save them to a gallery, use them to personally identify the user, or sell them to third parties.
Permission to use the camera is requested by Android, iOS, or iPadOS before activation. Users can deny or remove this permission at any time in their device settings.
4. Purpose of data use
Data is used only to display historical content, recognize stickers, provide augmented reality experiences, synchronize content, download media, and improve application stability.
5. Data sharing and third-party services
Traces Urbaines does not sell, rent, or use personal data for targeted advertising.
Some third-party services may be involved in the operation, hosting, or distribution of the application, including Unity, Vuforia, Google Play, Apple App Store, and the Traces Urbaines server host.
These services may process certain technical information according to their own privacy policies.
6. Local storage and cache
The application may locally store certain content, including text, images, audio files, 3D models, place information, and sticker-related data.
This data is used to speed up loading and reduce repeated downloads. It is not used to track the user.
It can be deleted from device settings, by clearing the cache, or by uninstalling the application.
7. Internet connection
An Internet connection is required on first launch to download the data needed for sticker recognition. It may also be needed to update content, download media, load 3D models, or open certain external links.
The main server used by the application is: https://tracesurbaines.com
8. Children’s data
Traces Urbaines is a cultural, historical, and educational application that may be used by a broad audience, including in school, cultural, or exhibition contexts.
The application does not intentionally collect personal data from children. If a parent or guardian believes that personal information about a child was sent to us by mistake, they may contact us to request deletion.
9. Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
Communications with the Traces Urbaines server use the secure HTTPS protocol.
No computer system or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Data retention
Local data is kept on the device for as long as necessary for the application to function or until it is deleted by the user.
Any technical information processed by our services or providers is kept only for the time necessary for security, operation, and service maintenance.
11. User rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, users may request information about their data, access to their personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of personal data, restriction of processing, or objection to certain processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at: youness.dominique@gmail.com
12. Permissions used
Depending on the device and features used, the application may request access to the camera, the Internet, and the application’s internal local storage.
The camera is required for augmented reality and recognition of stickers and target images. Internet access is required to download and synchronize content.
On Android, permissions can be managed from the application settings. On iPhone and iPad, camera access can be managed from the privacy settings.
Denying camera permission will prevent the AR scanner from working.
13. Advertising tracking, ads, and in-app purchases
At this time, Traces Urbaines does not include in-app advertising, does not offer in-app purchases, does not use data for targeted advertising, and does not track users across apps or websites for advertising purposes.
The application therefore does not currently request Apple’s advertising tracking permission, known as App Tracking Transparency.
If these practices change, this policy and the declarations provided to Google Play and the App Store will be updated.
14. External links and content
The application may open websites or external resources. These services have their own privacy policies.
Traces Urbaines is not responsible for the practices of these external services. We recommend that users review the privacy policy of each service they visit.
15. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the application, new features, legal obligations, or Google Play and App Store requirements.
Any important change will be published on this page with a new update date.
